Mission
The mission of The Christian Sportsman magazine is to encourage and empower sportsmen to discover then develop a deep passion to pursue Jesus Christ in the context of outdoor adventure.
In 2004, several church denominations are partnering with The Christian Sportsman staff in a revolutionary project to encourage the men’s ministry within each local church to introduce to their congregation an innovative evangelistic tool. The publication is proven in equipping men to begin to share their Christian faith with others.
As well, the magazine features our toll free Sportsmen’s Prayer Line at 1.800.772.6115 as an evangelistic follow-up mechanism that routes calls directly to a concise pre-recorded presentation of the gospel. Callers may also choose to speak with a live telephone encourager. A network of Christian sportsmen from participating churches being developed and will be available to respond to the prayer needs of other sportsmen who call the number seeking help.
The Christian Sportsman magazine has been well received by a variety of church denominations, conservation organizations, Second Amendment rights groups, and displayed on newsstands at Barnes & Noble, Family Christian Stores, Lifeway Christian Bookstores, grocery chain stores, etc. Research and development done through Christian Sportsmen’s Fellowship has been invaluable.
Since 2000, the producers of this timely communication tool have partnered with key industry leaders as well as guides & outfitters for the purpose of establishing a professionally produced magazine that reflects the very excellence that our Lord Jesus Christ deserves.
The accompanying research entitled The American Sportsman produced by the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation together with the National Shooting Sports Foundation very succinctly outlines the vast opportunity across the United States in targeting almost one-half of America’s adult population with the Christian lifestyle message. This burgeoning market of over 67,000,000 million sportsmen is a target too big to miss. There are approximately 15,000,000 hunters and 40,000,000 anglers that are issued a license each year. An additional 12,000,000 target shooters and gun enthusiasts are also very passionate about the Great Outdoors. Millions of additional young sportsmen accompany adults on hunting and fishing trips each year but are not required to obtain a license.
